This index tracks key metrics, identified by workshop participants at The Curve in November 2024, that reflect societal, technological, and regulatory preparedness for Artificial General Intelligence (as defined in this question). Participants answered the question: Assume AGI arrives in 2030. If you could ask an oracle three questions about the world right before AGI arrives, what would they be? Their questions were discussed and winnowed to these eight.
