Tournament Winners

We are excited to announce the winners of our [Q1 2023 Beginner Tournament](https://www.metaculus.com/tournament/Q12023-beginner-tournament/)! Beginner Tournaments are designed to introduce newcomers to the world of forecasting through interesting questions that resolve weekly. We were blown away by the level of participation and enthusiasm from our participants. We had over 500 participants who made forecasts on at least one question in the tournament! Congratulations on your back-to-back victories, Unwrapped8600—from here on, we’ve determined that you are no longer a *beginner.*

New Tournament Launches

**But that's not all!** We are also excited to announce two new tournaments launching this week. First, we will be hosting another [Beginner Tournament](https://www.metaculus.com/tournament/beginner-tournament/) for those who missed out on the first two or want to continue to build their forecasting skills. This tournament will follow the same format as the previous one, with two questions opening every Friday that will resolve in the following week. We encourage everyone, especially those new to forecasting, to participate and have fun! Second, we will be introducing a new quarterly event: the [Breaking News Tournament](https://www.metaculus.com/tournament/breaking-news/). This tournament is open to the entire Metaculus community and will challenge participants to forecast various events and outcomes related to current events and news stories as they unfold. This tournament will be a bit different from our usual forecasting tournaments, with 2-4 questions added weekly, all resolving by the end of the quarter. We are thrilled to offer these new opportunities for our community to learn, grow, and engage in the world of forecasting. Happy forecasting!
