The Economist wants to know the Metaculus Community’s forecasts for 2022: How will the pandemic continue to shape economies, scientific development, and international politics? What is the future of mounting US-China tensions? How much GDP growth will the world’s largest economy see? The Global Trends 2022 Tournament focuses on these and other topics, collecting predictions that will appear in one of the most widely read publications in the world.

The top five forecasters in this tournament will be awarded one-year subscriptions to The Economist. Note that only forecasts submitted before Monday, December 27th will be used in publication, so predictors are encouraged to begin forecasting now.

For tournament scoring, there will be no hidden period, and coverage will be based on participation over the entire duration of questions.
